Amazon Studios Greenlights Nerd Comedy

Amazon Studios, the original content, film, and series production arm of Amazon.com, said this week that it has turned the green light on for a new, original comedy centered around the Silicon Valley startup scene. Amazon said that Betas will feature four computer geeks and their "quest for nerd fame". The new show will feature Ed Begley Jr., Jon Daly, Joe Dinicol, Margo Harshman, Charlie Saxton and Karan Soni as stars of the film. The new comedy pilot is one of eight in Amazon's pilot lineup, where Amazon is testing out content via Prime Instant Video and LoveFiLM; Amazon is using feedback from viewers to drive its future plans for that original content.
