Portland Dangles $10K, Free Rent To Attract Startups
A group in Portland is looking to spur more startups in the city, through the launch of a new effort which will give $10,000 in working capital, a full year of rent-free office space, and free professional advice and services. According to the Portland Development Commission, the new Startup PDX:Challenge is seeking startups in any industry to apply for the funding and office space. Applications for the effort are due April 4th.
The Portland Development Commission is Portland's economic development and urban renewal agency, which is chartered to invest in job creation, innovation and economic opportunity throughout Portland. The group said the package is valued at $40,000 per company, and also includes free legal services, free accounting services, free hiring and HR services, and more. The office space is located on Portland's Produce Row.
