Avanade Buys Opstera
Seattle-based Avanade, the provider of managed services and technology, said this morning that it has acquired Bellevue's Opstera, a developer of public cloud management software. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Opstera develops applications used to monitor and manage Windows Azure applications. As part of the acquisition, Avanade said that Opstera co-founders Paddy Srinivasan and Ranjith Ramakrishnan have both joined the company. Avanade explaind the addition of Opstera will add to its portfolio of cloud manage services, and helps compliment Azaleos, the managed service firm also recently acquired by Avanade.
Avanade is majority owned by Accenture, and was founded in 2000 as a joint venture of Accenture and Microsoft; the firm says it now has more than 17,000 professionals in more than 20 countries. Avanade bought Azaleos in November.
