Amazon Marketplace Sales Grow 40 Percent
Amazon is reporting this morning that its third party, marketplace sellers saw a more than 40 percent, year-over-year growth during the holidays, which it says was a "record-breaking" holiday season for those businesses. Amazon said it has more than 2 million third party sellers, who collectively have sold "tens of billions of dollars" for the year through Amazon. Amazon allows third party sellers to offer up their items through its marketplace, where Amazon lists their items if the company does not stock the item, and also offering up fulfillment services where the company handles storing and drop shipping those items to customers.
