Amazon's Locker Idea Spreads To Overstock.com
Amazon.com's move to start maintaining delivery lockers in public places to facilitate delivery of products to customers looks to be spreading, as reports Thursday said that fellow e-commerce firm Overstock.com is now also looking at creating its own locker effort. Amazon's lockers are installed at places such as corner drugstores, office supply stores, and elsewhere, so that Amazon customers can pick up their goods in a secure area. The news follows the acquisition just last month by Google, which acquired Bufferbox, a similar operator of delivery lockers in Toronto.
