Google Aims At Amazon With New Shipping Service

It looks like Google is taking aim at Amazon.com--more specifically, at Amazon's all-you-can-ship, premium Amazon Prime service--with plans to launch a new service called Google Shopping Express. According to reports this morning, the same-day delivery service will offer up products from Target, Walmart, and others. If true, the reports are another major move into Amazon's turf in the e-commerce and delivery area; only five months ago, Google acquired Bufferbox, a provider of temporary lockers for delivery of e-commerce products, a direct competitor to the Amazon Locker effort; the two also have been competing in the cloud computing area.
