Cray Debuts New Supercomputer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory
Seattle-based supercomputer developer Cray said it has debuted its newest, production hybrid supercomputer, the Cray XK7, at the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Cray said its Cray XK7 has debuted in ORNL's "Titan" supercomputer, a 200-cabinet supercompupter with 18,688 compute nodes. The new supercomputer uses both AMD Opteron processors and GPU accelerators from NVIDIA. Cray said the new supercomputer is capable of more than 20 petaflops of high performance computing (HPC) throughput.
