Itron Wins Big Gas Metering Contract In California

Liberty Lake, Washington-based Itron, the provider of smart utility meters, has scored a big contract in Southern California, the company said today. The firm said that Southern California Gas Company will install nearly 1.5 million of its gas meters, and more than 600,000 gas regulators as part of an advanced metering project beginning in Q4. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Itron said the contract includes a minimum of 1.2 million residential gas meters, 200,000 residential curb meters and 50,000 light commercial meters.
