Intellectual Ventures Settles Lawuits Against SK hynix, Elpida

Bellevue-based patent storehouse Intellectual Ventures has reached a settlement with two companies, SK hynix and Elpida Memory, the company said Monday. Financial details of the settlement were not disclosed. Intellectual Ventures had sued both of the firms in December of 2010, over patent infringement claims; the companies said that IV will file motions to dismiss all pending litigation against the two companies and their customers. The two had been part of a number of patent infringement suits filed by Intellectual Ventures, as it has recently become more aggressive in its licensing efforts for its patents.
