TriQuint Wins DARPA Contract

Hillsboro, Oregon-based RF semiconductor maker TriQuint Semiconductor reported a win with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) today, saying that it has received a $2.7M contract. The contract is part of a gallium nitride (GaN) research effort focused on improving the power handling performance of those circuits. TriQuint said it is partnering in the program with the University of Bristol (United Kingdom), Group4 Labs and Lockheed Martin.
