Cray Installs In Switzerland
Seattle-based Cray has installed one of its supercomputers in Switzerland, at the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS), the company said Wednesday. Cray said its code-name "Cascade" supercomputer and accompanying storage system is at the CSCS's new high performance computing facility in Lugano, Switzerland. Cray said the machine will be used in such areas as material science, climate modeling, geosciences, molecular biology and biomedical engineering. Financial impact of the win was not announced.
