Bing Taps Celebrities For Bing It On Challenge

As part of its push to get people to try a blind "taste test" of its search engine results versus Google, Bing has recruited a number of celebrities to get the word out about its Bing It On Challenge. Bing said yesterday that it will be tapping Derek Hough, a star from ABC's Dancing with the Stars, and pop star Cody Simpson, in two different sets of events to call attention to the Bing It On Challenge. The Challenge allows users to run a set of searches on any topic against both Bing and Google, which are then presented side by side for users to compare and vote on. Bing contends that its results are as good as or better than those from Google. Hough will be appearing at a live event in Los Angeles today and on a BingIt chat; Simpson will give a concert at Microsoft's store at the University Village in Seattle on September 17th.
