Bing Challenges Google Results
Search engine Bing is challenging the search engine accuracy--and dominance--of Google this morning, with a new campaign called the Bing It On Challenge. Bing, which has struggled for years to dislodge Google from its throne as top search site, said that its research has found that people actually prefer Bing's web search results over Google, and that it's willing to put that to the test in actual searches. As part of the campaign, the search engine is challenging users to conduct five search queries, and directly compare them to unbranded Web search results from both Bing and Google, declaring a winner between the two. The test then lets people share those results with others on social networking sites. The challenge--in essence, a blind "taste test" of search engine results--is being supported by a nationwide TV and online ad campaign, and will also include a sweepstakes and other promotions.
