Chirpify Heads to Hollywood With Music VP
Portland-based startup Chirpify is setting its sights on the music business today, with the announcement of a new VP specifically aimed at the music industry. The company--which provides a system to enable e-commerce over Twitter--said it has named Rory Felton as Vice President of Business Development, Music. According to Chirpify, Felton--who is based in Los Angeles--is a music industry insider, having co-founded his own record company at 18 years old (The Militia Group), served as an executive producer, was involved in a joint venture with BMG Music Publishing, and has produced music videos show on MTV, VH1, YouTube, and Vevo. One of Chirpify's early successes has been in letting people buy music tracks, concert tickets, and other merchandise via Twitter.
