Bezos Backs Robotics Firm
Bezos Expeditions, the venture funding arm of Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos, has backed a developer of manufacturing robots. Boston -based Rethink Robotics announced the $30M investment last week, saying that new investor Sigma Partners led the round, which also included its prior investors, Charles River Ventures, Highland Capital Partners, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and Bezos Expeditions. The round was a Series C funding. Rethink robotics is looking to develop robots to improve the productivity of manufacturing, to "re-shore" manufacturing operations. More information »
