Mentor Graphics Snags General Manager From Wind River
Wilsonville, Oregon-based Mentor Graphics has snagged a new general manager away from competitor Wind River, saying Friday that it has named Scot Morrison as its general manager of Embedded Runtime Solutions. Morrison was most recently General Manager and Senior Vice President at WInd River Systems, a competing developer of embedded operating systems and related software. Mentor said that Morrison will manage it Nucleus product line, middleware, and professional services. Nucleus is the firm's commercial real time operating system (RTOS), which is used in embedded computing designs like mobile handsets. Nucleus competes directly with Wind River's VxWorks RTOS.
