Mentor Graphics Acquired By Siemens For $4.5 Billion
Wilsonville, Oregon-based Mentor Graphics, the developer of electronic design automation (EDA) software and tools, has agreed to be acquired by Siemens in a deal worth $4.5 billion. According to the two, Siemens will pay $37.25M per share in cash for Mentor Graphics, a 21 percent premium to Mentor's closing price on Friday. The companies said that major Mentor shareholder Elliott Management has committed to support the transaction. Mentor Graphics is a developer of electronic design automation, industrial control, embedded software, and other products.
