Seattle-based Amazon.com is reportedly nearing a tax deal with the State of Texas, over $269M in an outstanding bill for uncollected sales taxes. According to the Austin American-Statesman, Amazon is negotiating with Texas officials to resolve the bill, although no details on what is being discussed have been released.Amazon had earlier offered to bring new jobs and fulfillment centers to the state, in exchange for an exemption on collecting sales taxes; so far, Texas legislators have rejected Amazon's proposal.
