Microsoft, GE Plan Healthcare IT Joint Venture
Redmond-based Microsoft and General Electric Co. said this morning that they are launching a new, joint venture called Cardigm. The two said the 50-50 joint venture will focused on healthcare IT, which it says will help health professionals to improve healthcare quality through "real-time, systemwide intelligence". The two did not discuss financing terms of the joint venture. The two are stocking the new company with executives from both GE Healthcare and Microsoft.
