Urban Airship Gets Backing From Intel
Portland-based Urban Airship and Intel Capital announced yesterday that Intel Capital has made an investment in Urban Airship, as part of the earlier, $15.1M Series C funding the firm announced this month. Urban Airship had announced the deal on November 7th. Intel's investment is part of a new, $100M fund called the Intel Capital AppUp Fund; Urban Airship was one of the first two investments from that new venture fund. Urban Airship said the deal includes a business collaboration agreement with the Intel Software and Services Group, where it will support specific Intel initiatives in the mobile space.
