Redfin's Scouting Report Pulled Off Market
Seattle-based Redfin has pulled its latest feature, the Scouting Report, off the site, according to a post from CEO Glenn Kelman Tuesday afternoon. According to Kelman, the firm just "took down Scouting Report 1.0 for good", citing people who were "violently opposed" to the feature, bad data, issues with performance metrics, bugs, and other reasons. Kelman said, in justifying the shutdown of the service that "it would have been enough to destroy our credibility if we had insisted on keeping Scouting Report live", saying that there were problems with its data source accuracy which made it impossible to defend the firm from MLS and agent complaints, and that he did not know when or if the feature will "see the light of day again."
