Microprocessor giant Intel is turning to the University of Washington, to host a new Intel Science and Technology Center, the company said today. Intel said the new center, which will be based out of UW, is a collaboration with Georgia Institute of Technology, Cornell University, University of Rochester, UCLA and Stanford University. Intel said the new center will accelerate the development of "next-generation" technologies capable of continuously learning and adapting to consumers’ needs. Intel said the new effort will be led by Dieter Fox, associate professor of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington, and Anthony LaMarca, a senior scientist at Intel.
