Obama Tours Intel's Oregon Operations
President Barack Obama toured Intel's Oregon research and development facility Friday, as part of a tour of American high tech companies this week. Obama toured Intel's Fab D1D wafer fabrication facility, as well as spoke with Intel CEO Paul Otellini, who announced a move to hire 4,000 new U.S. employees this year, in addition to a plan to build a new $5 billion fab facility in Arizona. Intel is Oregon's largest employer, with approximately 15,000 employees in the state.
