Mentor Graphics Wins Freescale
Wilsonville, Oregon-based Mentor Graphics, the developer of electronic design automation software, has scored a win with semiconductor maker Freescale Semiconductor. Freescale said today that it has selected Mentor to develop software for its AltiVec processing engine, a DSP and vector-processing technology that is part of Freescale's 64-bit Power e6500 cores. Financial details of the deal between the companies was not disclosed. Freescale's technology is used for algorithmic and compute-intensive data processing.
