Amazon Debuts HTML5 Kindle Reader
Seattle-based Amazon said this morning that it has launched a new, HTMl5-based version of its Kindle reader app, which allows users to read Kindle books on any HTML5 web browser. The new app takes advantage of HTML5's offline features, and allows readers to read books both online and offline via their web browser. According to Amazon, the new app will support features such as synchronization of a user's Kindle library and keeping track of last pages read, and integration with the Kindle Store. Among features of the new web app are touch-sensitive features to access to the Kindle store, particularly for the iPad. The new app works with the Chrome and Safari browsers.
