Bing, Google, Yahoo Team On Web Data Standard
Bing, Google, and Yahoo said Thursday that the three search firms have agreed on a new, web data standard. The three said that they've created Schema.org, a new effort to standardize structured data markup on web pages. The new standards help companies better provide information to those search engines, to improve how their sits appear on searches. The three said the site will help webmasters understand how to tag data in over 100 categories, including movies, music, TV shows, places, products, and organizations.
