Digimarc Adds Image Search, Watermarking

Beaverton, Oregon-based Digimarc said earlier this week that it has added new tracking and tracing ability for digital imagery. The firm, which develops technology used to digitally watermark media, said it has tapped BD-BrandProtect to crawl and search the Internet for images which are digital watermarked by brand owners. According to Digimarc, the service can be used to track advertising for products, use of images in ads, and for trademark and copyright protection. The deal also calls for BrandProtect to market Digimarc's digital watermarking technology to its customers. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
