Getty Images Buys PicScout

Seattle-based Getty Images, the provider of image licensing and distribution services, announced last night that it has acquired PicScout, a developer of software for identifying image use, metadata, and licensing on the web. Financial terms of the buy were not announced. Getty said the buy will help build and grow upon its existing products and services. PicScout had offices in Herzliya, Israel and Los Gatos, California. PicScout's software is being used by photographers and others to track where their images are being used on the web.
