TechStars Launches Bracket Competition For Startups
TechStars, the startup incubation group which has an arm in Seattle headed by Andy Sack, said this morning that it has launched a new Startup Madness bracket competition, inspired by the upcoming March Madness basketball competition. According to TechStars, the competition includes a prize of $5,000 worth of advertising on the Seattle 2.0 website, part of over $25,000 in prizes which will be in part determined by voting by tweet. The competition is open to non-TechStars companies that have not raised over $250,000, have revenues below $250,000, and have a live demo or product, in the internet, software, or high-tech areas. The competition will pit different startups against each other to determine the ultimate winner of the prizes.
