Smarsh Adds File Encryption
Portland-based Smarsh, which develops archiving and compliance software, said Wednesday that it has added file encryption capability to its software. The firm said the addition of the encryption allows the firm's software to be compliance with recent FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) amendments. The rules cover encyption of documents on portable media devices, such as CDs, DVDs, USB drives or portable hard drives. Smarsh provides its archiving of email, instant messaging and social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter for companies.
