Gist Acquired By Research In Motion

Seattle-based Gist, the provider of contact information and profiles for Microsoft Outlook and Google Gmail, said today that it has been acquired by Research In Motion, the maker of the popular BlackBerry mobile phones. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. RIm said that Gist's team will join thec ompany, and help bring a contextualized, streamlined, and consolidated view of information about contacts to the BlackBerry platform. Gist was headed by T.A. McCann, and was backed by Vulcan Capital.
