iovation: 35 Million Fraud Attempts Stopped

Portland-based iovation, which provides a service to help prevent fraud and abuse on online businesses, claims that it stopped 35 million fraud attempts for its customers in 2010. According to the firm, it has protected 4.5 billion total transactions to date for its customers. iovation is a provider of an online security service, which uses device fingerprints to prevent fraud for ecommerce, travel, dating, gaming, and other websites. The firm did not report any financials but said 2010 was its "most successful year" based on its shareholder's expectation for customer retention, new customer acquisition, and revenue growth.
