Intermec Buys Vocollect
Everett, Washington-based Intermec said today that it is in a definitive agreement to acquire Vocollect, a developer of voice-enabled mobile software. The deal was worth $190M in cash. Intermec said that it acquired Vocollect from private equity firm Riverside Partners, based in Boston. Intermec said the buy helps to broaden its applications and solutions offers in the warehouse workflow market. Vocollect--based in Pittburgh--becomes Intermec's Voice Solutions business, and will be headed by Joe Pajer, most recently President and CEO of Vocollect. Intermec said it expects 2010 revenues for Vocollect to be approximately $120M. Intermec was advised by Goldman Sachs in the buy.
