Amazon Awards $100K To Web Services Winner

Seattle-based Amazon Web Services, the web services arm of Amazon.com, said today that it has awarded the winner of its fourth annual, Amazon Web Services Start-Up Challenge. The annual award looks to identify the startup with the most innovative use of Amazon's various web services offerings. Amazon said that it has awarded $100,000 in a combination of cash and service credits to M-Dot Network, which is using Amazon as part of a service to allow for the redemption of mobile coupons. M-DotNetwork is based in Erie, Pennsylvania.
