Amazon Awards AWS Start-Up Challenge Winner
Seattle-based Amazon Web Services, the web service arm of Amazon.com, said today that it has named the winners of its AWS Start-Up Challenge. The firm said that GoodData, a developer of business intelligence software based on Amazon's compute clouds, won $50,000 in cash and $50,000 in AWS service credits, along with an investment offer from Amazon.com, as part of the challenge. The runner up was Bizo, a developer of ad targeting technology, which received $25,000 in service credits. Finally, Amazon also said it awarded $5,000 in cash plus $5,000 in credits to Flightcaster, a developer of flight delay prediction software, for its creative use of Amazon Payments.
