Itron Gets Indonesian Win
Liberty Lake, Washington-based Itron, the maker of smart utility meters, said earlier this week that it has scored three major contracts with Indonesian, state-owned utilities. Itron said it is supplying Indonesian state-owned electricity utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) with around 800,000 keypad smart payment residential meters. Financial details of the win were not disclosed. Itron's smart payment meters allow users to purchase energy via unique, 20-digit codes, metering out kwH; the firm said the payment technology is popular in the region.
