Smarsh Adds Text Messaging Support

Portland-based Smarsh, a provider of email archiving and compliance services, said today that it has added text message archiving to its service. The firm said it now supports SMS text messages, BlackBerry PIN-to-PIN and Blackberry Messenger content in its product. Smarsh's product is used to archive messages for compliance and e-discovery uses. The firm said it has partnered with TextGuard for the functionality, but did not disclose any details of the business relationship betwee the two firms. Smarsh said over 10,000 organizations are using its email archiving and compliance services.
