Smarsh Connects Into Instagram
In an odd intersection of corporate compliance and instant photo messaging, Portland-based software maker Smarsh said this morning that companies can now meet their regulatory and e-discovery requirements, even if they are using Instagram. Smarsh said that it has begun offering enhanced, archiving support for the popular photo messaging app, allowing companies who are subject to strict regulations from the SEC and FINRA to use the Instagram platform. Smarsh's software already archives and stores email, instant messaging, mobile messaging, and websites for companies who are subject to those strict recordkeeping rules--particularly those related to financial institutions, brokerages, and others.
