Widevine Adds Dolby Digital Plus Support
Seattle-based Widevine, a provider of digital rights management (DRM) software, said today that it has added support for Dolby Digital Plus, an audio encoding format, to its platform. According to the firm, Widevine now supports Dolby Digital Plus in its video optimization solution, which is used for adaptive streaming and virtual DVD features on consumer electronics products. The firm said the support will allow consumers to have "the best experience possible" on digital media over the Internet.
