Widevine Upgrades DRM Software
Seattle-based Widevine, a developer of digital rights management (DRM) software for the entertainment industry, said today that it has upgraded its video optimization and digital rights management platform. According to the firm, the latest release, version 4.4.4, adds such features as support for live HTTP streaming, multi-platform DRM, adaptive streaming, and other features. The firm also said the release expands its list of supported devices. Widevine said that Blockbuster, Netflix, and Sonic's Roxio CinemaNow are among the firms using its DRM products.
