Lockerz Launches With Backing From KPCB, Liberty Media
Seattle-based Lockerz.com, a new startup focused on social commerce, said today that it has officially launched, with backing from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Liberty Media. The firm said it is targeted at men and women between 13-30, and operates an invitation-only site which gives rewards points to users for watching videos and music, shopping for fashion, gaming, electronics and sports gear, and more. The firm was founded by Kathy Savitt, who has served at American Eagle Outfitters and Amazon.com. The firm said its initial funding came from Liberty Media, as well as a personal investment from Liberty CEO Greg Maffei. The firm said it just closed a Series B financing round led by KPCB, which adds Partner John Doerr to its board. Amount of the financing rounds have not been announced. More information »
