Planar Wins Chinese Railroad

Beaverton, Oregon-based Planar Systems reported today that it has been selected by the China Ministry of Railroad, supplying display components to Xingtai Xianfeng Ultrasonic Electronics. Planar said its TFEL devices will be used as part of an ultrasonic railway detector product used to inspect Chinese railroads. Planar did not detail the financial impact of the win, but said it was the only supplier able to meet the rugged specifications for the displays for the system.
