Planar Gets Wins

Beaverton, Oregon-based Planar Systems is reporting today that the firm's thin film electroluminescent (TFEL) display technology has been selected by both a manufacturer of products for the domestic China market and a U.S. firm. According to Planar, its technology is being incorporated into products manufactured by Jetronic Technology, and separately, that the technology is also being used in a product manufactured by an undisclosed, U.S. company focused on public safety. Financial impact of the deals was not disclosed. Planar said the Chinese win will go into industrial products sold in China; the U.S. win will be used for improving readability of on-screen data in vehicle communication products.
