Amazon Web Services Rolls Out Asia Pacific Support
Amazon Web Services, the web services arm of Amazon.com, said this morning that it has launched Asia Pacific Region support for its cloud computing platform. Amazon said it has launched a data center in Singapore, to host applications for Asian companies. Many of those companies were already using Amazon's service via its U.S. data centers. Amazon said the new "Singapore" Availability Zone begins today, and will give customers access to Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon SimpleDB, Amazon RDS, Amazon SQS, Amazon CloudFront, Amazon CloudWatch, and Amazon SNS. The Singapore data center provides better connectivity and bandwidth to customers in the Asia Pacific region.
