Amazon Web Services announced this morning that it has opened up a new set of data centers in Australia, offering up its cloud computing services hosted in a data center in Sydney. The Seattle arm of Amazon.com said the Asia Pacific (Sydney) Region is the company's ninth region where it has deployed its cloud services platform. Amazon said the new center is targeted at Australia-based businesses and global companies with customers in Australia. Users of Amazon's web services can select a center where their cloud services run, usually near where their customers are.
