DreamBox Learning Acquired By Netflix CEO Reed Hastings
Bellevue, Washington-based Dreambox Learning, a developer of online, math education software, has been acquired by Netflix CEO Reed Hastings and venture capital firm Charter Fund, DreamBox said today. According to Dreambox Learning, Hastings and non-profit VC Charter Fund are investing another $10M in the company as part of the buy. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. DreamBox Learning said the move will help it to "significantly increase" its footprint in U.S. schools. Dreambox develops web-based, education products targeted at kindergarten through third grade, to help students learn math.
