DreamBox Learning Lands $11M

Bellevue-based DreamBox Learning, the developer of adaptive learning software for elementary school students, said today that it has raised $11M in a new funding round. The round came from Charter School Growth Fund, the fund run by Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, as well as from venture capitalist John Doerr, GSV Capital, and investor Deborah Quazzo. DreamBox Learning said the funding will go to expand curriculum, for product development, and to expand its distribution. DreamBox develops software which adapts to the pace and skills of the students using its software, to help improve the learning of those students. DreamBox Learning was acquired in April of 2010 by Charter School Growth Fund, Hastings' private fund aimed at improving education. More information »
