Amazon: $9.5B in Q4 Sales, Boosted By Kindle Book Purchases
Seattle-based Amazon.com reported it had $9.5 billion in sales in the fourth quarter of 2009 last night, and also noted that it is now selling six Kindle books for every 10 physical books that the firm sells. The company, which announced its quarterly results Thursday afternoon, said it saw net sales increase 42 percent over fourth quarter 2008, with net income of $384 million in Q4. The firm says it now has more than 410,000 books in its Kindle Store.
