Amazon Trumpets Kindle Sales
Seattle-based Amazon.com said this morning that the sales of its newest Kindle devices have beat its prior year fourth quarter sales. Amazon--which did not disclose any actual sales volumes on the new Kindle--said it sold more new generation Kindle devices since introduction, than the total number of Kindle devices sold from October through December of 2009. Amazon did not give any other details on the claim. Amazon also said its Kindle book sales continue to beat its traditional, print book sales, including both hardcover and paperback books, at a rate of 2 to 1.
