Amazon.com: Kindle Price Drop Accelerated Sales
Seattle-based Amazon.com is claiming today that its recent price drop on the Amazon Kindle has accelerated its sales of the device, saying that it believes it has reached a "tipping point" due to the price drops. According to Amazon this afternoon, it has tripled unit sales of the device since the price drop, saying that Kindle book sales have now overtaken traditional hardcover book sales. Amazon dropped its Kindle pricing on June 21st, in reaction to the release of a cheap, Wi-Fi only version of the Nook e-book reader from Barnes and Noble.
